Charis Missionary Church Harrismith is a Spirit-led community of faith, healing, and purpose that has been transforming lives in Harrismith and surrounding areas since its establishment in 2015.

The church's mission is clear: to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, win souls and make disciples, equip believers to live lives of faith and purpose, and serve and uplift the community through love and action. The church believes that the church is not just a building, but a people called to represent Christ wherever they go.

"Our vision is to be a Spirit-led church that transforms lives, families, and communities through the preaching of the Gospel, discipleship, and service," says Prophet K. Mthethwa. "We are bringing good news to the poor and hope to the broken."

The first quarter of 2026 has been nothing short of remarkable for the church. The congregation has witnessed:

  • The miraculous healing of Mme Malethabo, who was blind for four to five months and received her sight through prayer
  • The successful Warden Tent Crusade, where over 1,000 souls gathered and were transformed
  • The Purposeful Girls Pyjama Party, empowering young women through faith and education
  • Continued growth in fellowship and spiritual encounters

The church operates with a strong emphasis on healing and deliverance. Every Sunday, healing and deliverance take place as the Word of God is preached and prayer is ministered. The church believes that God still works miraculously today, just as He did in the Bible.

"Our Foundation: Jesus Christ is our healer and deliverer," Pastor Mthethwa explains. "Healing and freedom come through faith, prayer, and obedience. All glory belongs to God."

The church plays a meaningful role within the community, supporting learners to access tertiary education and creating employment opportunities, helping to uplift lives and restore dignity through practical Christian service.

The church building, constructed in 2018, stands as a testament to the faith and sacrifice of the congregation and leadership. The dedication service, officiated by Apostle JB Makananisa, marked a season of thanksgiving, revival, and renewal.

As Charis Missionary Church looks ahead, there is a clear vision for more crusades across the country, more souls won for the Kingdom, and more communities transformed by the power of the Gospel. The church invites everyone to join them in fellowship, worship, and becoming part of what God is doing in the church and community.
